Job Description:

The Product Engineering Director is responsible for defining product strategy, managing the cloud product service lifecycle, and overseeing new feature roadmaps. The role involves working with application and engineering teams to deliver cloud services iteratively while ensuring alignment with Citi's cloud strategy and modernization programs.

Job Responsibility:

Drive product and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams
analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships to drive cloud services
work with application teams to build roadmaps for curated cloud services and manage priorities for engineering teams
analyze product requirements and develop a team approach for delivery
implement and maintain production timelines across multiple departments
appraise new product ideas and strategize go-to-market plans
create a cohesive delivery function by connecting application teams with central cloud engineering teams and ensuring OKRs are established
evangelize products to drive scaled adoption across Citi.

Requirements:

Previous experience of leading engineering teams to deliver cloud Infrastructure as Code that build platforms and services in both Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud
technical engineering background, with hands on experience of Terraform, Python, Java and GO
extensive experience in delivering cloud modernization in large complex global organizations including a good understanding of application architectures, cloud native services and automation
knowledge to build central cloud pipelines, compute and data platforms and experience successfully leading engineering teams to deliver this in previous roles
product engineering leadership experience with the ability to define product roadmaps, prioritize work and drive value outcomes
10+ years of experience in dynamic product management roles
proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams
10+ years of experience delivering products that leverage cloud services
proven software delivery experience, working with development teams to drive iterative/continuous deployments
strong technical understanding of software delivery, cloud native services, providers and tools
experience in identifying, driving, and facilitating external partnerships to enhance product usage, effectiveness and adoption
extensive track record leading product and engineering teams
exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking skills
curious and problem-solving leadership style
ability to develop, scale, and continuously cultivate a strong product culture.

Nice to have:

Previous experience in software and web development
understanding of value stream mapping and how to increase productivity of development teams
track record of working in financial services or other regulated industries, specifically regarding leveraging cloud services
solid understanding of prioritization methodologies and how to deliver using a lean approach in collaboration with Agile delivery managers.
