Amex Digital Labs is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and managing emerging products and platforms that can be essential to our customers’ digital lives. Focus areas include crafting industry-leading digital payment solutions, using our outstanding servicing network and lifestyle assets to build digital experiences, and defining new products and services based on emerging technologies and trends. The Labs Digital Payments team is hiring a product leader to focus on digital wallets growth and expansion. In this role you will lead a product team responsible key capabilities driving our global digital wallets products, including core platform features, customer facing assets, servicing and data. This product area is central to our mission to develop and grow products that make membership essential while generating revenue streams for American Express.

Job Responsibility

  • Product and Platform Strategy Development: Shape a comprehensive strategy for the evolution of digital wallet offerings and underlying platform capabilities—including agentic payments—grounded in user needs, the competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and aligned with broader company goals
  • Product Roadmap Management and Delivery Planning: Drive the development and execution of a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing platform capabilities, features, and enhancements to optimize user engagement, repeat usage, and best-in-class customer experience
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product counterparts, engineering, risk, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of features, timely delivery, and alignment with technical feasibility, scalability, and user-experience standards
  • Platform Alignment & Integration: Coordinate across internal capability owners, shared services, and platform teams to ensure new solutions are cohesive, interoperable, and contribute to a unified enterprise ecosystem
  • User Insights & Analytics: Utilize qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques to gain deep insights into user behavior, preferences, and trends, leveraging findings to refine product strategies, improve user experience, and drive growth
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor product and platform performance to identify optimization and continuous improvement opportunities

Requirements

  • Experience in payments, commerce and AI, with demonstrated results driving meaningful value in customer facing experiences

  • A history of both managing scaled global products and transforming ideas into go-to-market capabilities
  • Technically literate with a deep appreciation of the engineering discipline and partnership
