Job Description:

The role of Associate Vice President – Product Management is positioned as networking - and sales-driven, strategic, and commercial role, a critical enabler of HSBC India's ambition to be the bank of choice for HNIs and Ultra-HNIs. As AVP – Product Management, Alternative Solutions, the role will lead the product strategy and commercialization of Alternatives with a strong focus on the Private Banking segment. This includes Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Co-Investing opportunities, and Unlisted Securities (through referral arrangements).

Job Responsibility:

  • Product Management & Innovation: Curate, evaluate, and manage a portfolio of Alternative offerings (AIFs, PMS, Co-Investing opportunities, Unlisted Securities via referral)
  • Commercialization & Private Banking Focus: Drive product penetration and adoption within the Private Banking domain through sharp positioning, playbooks, and client-ready narratives
  • Partner & Ecosystem Engagement: Build strong relationships with fund managers, deal originators, and referral partners to access differentiated opportunities for HSBC clients
  • Sales Enablement & Productivity: Equip Private Bankers and Investment Counsellors with training, tools, and structured conversations to enhance sales effectiveness and client impact
  • Thought Leadership & Strategic Communications: Deliver insightful product notes, market perspectives, and thematic content that position HSBC as a leader in Alternatives
  • P&L Contribution: Ensure Alternatives contribute meaningfully to Wealth P&L growth, with focus on scaling relevant and ahead of the curve product solutions
  • Controls & Suitability: Balance growth with strong governance, ensuring all solutions meet HSBC's suitability and compliance frameworks

Requirements:

  • Understanding and experience of working in a Bank, NBFC or in a financial institute working with client facing strategies and propositions
  • MBA from a reputed institute preferred
  • Post Graduate Degree (preferably in Economics, Mathematics, Finance) or professional qualifications like CA is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate behaviours consistent with HSBC Values
  • Good communication skills
  • Industry and sector knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Presentation, Data management and Product analysis knowledge
