We are seeking a Product Development Technician for our San Diego, CA facility. This role involves contributing to routine technical tasks and developing solutions to technical problems within a specified scope. The technician's primary interactions will be with their immediate supervisor, project leaders, and professionals within the unit.
Job Responsibility:
Collect, maintain, format, and manipulate technical data (e.g., lab or material test results, engineering design changes)
Produce engineering documentation, including reports, flowcharts, block diagrams, and schematics
Prepare reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis
Provide technical support to engineers across various tasks
Scope equipment use and complete qualifications
Collaborate on general lab functions (calibration, safety procedures, equipment maintenance)
Notify the manager or team lead of potential project-affecting factors
Assist in developing prototype processes and test setups
Execute designed test protocols and conduct testing
Document and communicate test results effectively
Support hardware debugging
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a lab or regulated environment
Hands-on experience following written procedures and working collaboratively in a team
Experience in supporting technical tasks and working in a lab setting
Ability to understand and execute designed test procedures
Problem-solving skills for routine technical issues
Effective communication skills within cross-functional teams
Proficiency in using personal computers
Ability to document and communicate technical data and test results
Experience in training lower-level technicians
Attention to detail for hardware debugging and equipment qualification
Minimum: High school diploma with at least 3 years of experience in a lab or regulated environment
