The Technician I in the Materials R&D group will be responsible for conducting bench-level testing/experiments, writing technical reports, supporting test request workflows, and operating equipment in materials characterization and testing labs. The role requires compliance with quality policies and local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in executing materials testing for sustaining engineering, new product development, or technology feasibility testing under supervision
Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data such as laboratory material test results
Report experiment results to direct managers and materials engineers
Prepare technical reports as needed using established templates
Maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Assist with organizing lab functions, including calibration
Understand and apply basic materials characterization techniques
Complete other assigned duties
Requirements:
1–5 years of relevant experience in a technical discipline or a combination of equivalent education and experience
Experience with material characterization/testing instruments and equipment
At minimum, an Associate's Degree in a Technical or Science Field
Training in laboratory safety and procedures
Nice to have:
Knowledge of mechanical measurement equipment (e.g., Instron) and/or materials characterization capabilities (e.g., FTIR, DSC, TGA) is desirable
