BrainWorks has partnered with a growing specialty chemical and aerosol manufacturing organization in the Greater Atlanta market who is seeking a full-time hands-on Product Development Chemist to support continued expansion across adhesive technologies and custom formulations. This organization has experienced significant year-over-year growth, expanded its commercial team, and continues to invest heavily in product innovation and market development. Job Responsibility:
Develop new solvent-based adhesive formulations from concept through commercialization
Optimize existing products for performance, cost, and regulatory compliance
Support aerosol, canister, and bulk product development initiatives
Partner closely with operations to scale formulations from bench to production including pilot trials
Evaluate raw materials, conduct testing/stability analysis, and troubleshoot formulation challenges
Serve as a technical contributor helping drive future product innovation and business growth
Support quality and customer complaint investigations when necessary
Requirements:
BS Chemistry or related field
Preferred candidate will have 5 years' experience formulating solvent-based adhesives within a regulated environment (EPA, DOT, OSHA and similar)
Candidate must have recent product development laboratory work experience within adhesives, coatings, aerosols, sealants, or specialty chemicals industries (solvent based)
Hands-on laboratory and production support experience required to include success with product formulations, customer requests to bring new applications to market and the ability to collaborate with external laboratory partners
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and write technical reports both internal and customer facing
Strong problem-solving and formulation development capability
Comfortable working onsite daily within a manufacturing setting
