We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Designer who will lead design for large-scale and/or highly ambiguous problem spaces, setting direction and driving outcomes that are key to product milestones. You’ll operate with significant autonomy, align solutions across multiple teams, and bring strong judgment to complex tradeoffs and dependencies. You’ll be expected to deliver exceptional craft and execution quality, influence standards beyond your immediate team, and represent work clearly in senior forums. You’ll also be expected to treat AI as a core collaborator, redesigning workflows to leverage AI meaningfully (not just incrementally), demonstrating measurable AI-driven impact, and scaling best practices across teams—while using AI responsibly and ethically in line with Meta’s mission, values, and principles. Job Responsibility:
Lead and ship large projects that are key to achieving product milestones and goals, including those with highly ambiguous requirements and outcomes
Drive end-to-end design across multiple workstreams and partner teams—aligning solutions across teams, anticipating future implications, and navigating complex dependencies
Shape product direction by applying broad product, business, and industry context
frame crisp decisions and build senior XFN consensus through clear narratives
Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant across supported platforms, while maintaining a high bar for craft and usability at scale
Influence and evolve design systems, patterns, and visual standards across multiple products/teams
proactively champion quality and reduce long-term design and implementation debt
Use research, data, and product signals to de-risk strategy, test solutions, and adjust direction when needed
Use AI as a core collaborator to accelerate exploration, synthesis, prototyping, testing, and communication
break down complex problems into AI-solvable parts
orchestrate multiple tools/agents in parallel when helpful
and clearly communicate AI-driven impact
Ensure responsible innovation: make decisions informed by risk/compliance guidance, maintain appropriate documentation, and speak up about compliance/ethics concerns (including AI-related risks), aligned with Meta’s mission, values, and principles
Raise the bar for the team by mentoring fellow designers and XFN partners, giving/soliciting high-quality feedback, and leading or contributing to org-wide initiatives (e.g., interviewing, onboarding, standards, teaching, or tooling)
Requirements:
8+ years of experience designing and shipping software products with strong UX, interaction, and visual design excellence that drive business outcomes
Demonstrated ability to lead design for large-scale and/or ambiguous initiatives, independently navigating cross-team dependencies and shifting direction when needed
Strong strategic product thinking and executive-ready communication skills, including decision framing and tailored narratives for senior XFN stakeholders
Experience using research and data to inform product strategy, evaluate tradeoffs, and define success
High craft and execution quality, with a track record of influencing standards, documentation, and quality practices that scale beyond a single team
Proficiency with prototyping workflows and tools to communicate systems, interactions, and end-to-end experiences
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have:
Demonstrated ability to redesign workflows around AI (not just using AI tactically), including prompt/tool fluency, rapid iteration with AI, and measurable impact on quality, speed, or outcomes
experience scaling AI best practices across a team
Experience building AI-native products and/or partnering closely with engineering on AI-driven capabilities, with strong attention to responsible AI use and validation practices
Experience evolving design systems and visual standards across multiple teams/products, minimizing product and implementation debt
Track record of driving consensus and alignment with senior cross-functional partners across reporting lines
Consistent contributions to org health through mentoring, interviewing, collaborative leadership, and leading team/pillar-wide initiatives
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
