The Windows Experiences team is a creative community of designers and researchers on a mission to create and deliver holistic customer experiences while imagining the future of Windows experiences. We are working to evolve Windows in the age of AI. Our diverse team works collaboratively to create products and ideas that allow us to move fast to build seamless and delightful experiences for over a billion customers. We’re building a culture based on learning, and creating meaningful experiences for our customers. We are seeking a multi-skilled Product Designer with a mastery of visual design, experience design, and storytelling. This designer should actively use and be willing to explore frontier AI tools and methodologies, embracing innovative approaches to solving problems and creating real impact. We’re looking for a designer who’s driven by empathy for customers, and the desire to see a project through from rough ideas to launch. The right candidate works independently and is a passionate collaborator with other design teams, engineering teams and marketing groups. Finally, this designer defaults to a making and building mindset – when in doubt we build something and test it. Embracing quick prototyping and testing is a must.

Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to shape solutions that are feasible, coherent, and aligned with product strategy, maintaining a high bar for craft across disciplines
Leverage frontier AI tools (e.g., AI-assisted research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, content generation etc.) to improve the speed, quality, and impact of design outcomes
Translate qualitative and quantitative research insights into actionable design improvements, iterating based on user feedback, experimentation, and product metrics
Create and test prototypes (low- to high-fidelity) to validate concepts, de-risk decisions, and clearly communicate intent to partners and stakeholders
Craft compelling design narratives that clearly articulate the WHAT, WHY, and HOW, connecting design decisions to user needs and business outcomes
Proactively seek feedback and guidance, incorporating input from peers, managers, and cross-functional partners to continuously improve craft and problem-solving skills
Contribute positively to team culture, participating in critiques, team rituals, and collaborative work while demonstrating openness to learning and growth

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
Portfolio demonstrating strong design fundamentals, including well-crafted UI, clear layouts, basic systems thinking, and the ability to explain design decisions and tradeoffs
Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, including Figma, and experience using prototyping or “vibe-coding” tools
Hands-on exposure to frontier AI tools to augment design workflows (e.g., research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, content, accessibility checks, or experimentation)
Solid foundation in interaction design and UX principles, including usability, accessibility, and inclusive design best practices
Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present work clearly and receive feedback constructively
Ability to work independently on well-scoped problems, while knowing when to ask questions, seek feedback
