We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Product Designer to join our Product Development Team. In this role, you will focus on the development of complex 3D surface geometry for large-scale fiberglass (FRP) product systems. This position bridges the gap between industrial design aesthetics and manufacturing engineering. You will own the advanced CAD surface modeling process, translating complex, organic paths and shapes into production-ready components that meet strict performance, safety, and fabrication requirements.
Job Responsibility
Own the development of complex 3D surface models. Create high-quality, continuous surfaces (A-class or equivalent) suitable for large-scale fiberglass structures and complex transitions
Design natural, organic components with a deep understanding of fiberglass and injection molding tool/mold design. Apply practical considerations such as part splitting, draft angles, and flange design
Collaborate closely with the internal engineering teams, ride path designers, and the executive leadership team to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and production-ready
Produce detailed part drawings and technical data packages (TDPs) utilizing AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D). Maintain organized design evolution tracking within PDM systems
Participate in hands-on prototyping, physical testing, and on-site product verification. Travel internationally to support site installations as required (up to 15%)
Requirements
3 to 5+ years of professional experience in product design with a heavy focus on advanced 3D CAD surface modeling
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks surfacing tools or equivalent CAD surfacing platforms
Proficiency using AutoCAD 2D (including knowledge of blocks)
Demonstrated portfolio experience creating complex, non-prismatic, and organic geometry (not just simple mechanical parts)
