Job Description:

The Wearables team in Meta’s Reality Labs is seeking an experienced Product Designer to shape the future of AI-powered wearable computing platforms and help revolutionize how users interact with wearables by delivering personalized device management experiences. In this key leadership role, you’ll focus on the Meta AI app and device integrations as part of Product Foundations. We aim to revolutionize how users interact with wearables by delivering AI-assisted, personalized device management experiences. The Meta AI companion app is at the heart of this vision, serving as the central hub connecting all our wearable devices. As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for delivering device management, discovery and education, AI utility, health/fitness, and media features at high-craft design. You will use your exceptional collaboration skills to partner crossfunctionally across Wearables and Meta Superintelligence Lab (MSL).

Job Responsibility:

  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into valuable, user-centric solutions for Meta’s 2B+ users. Influence product direction across large organizations and cross-functional partners
  • Lead the design and optimization of wearable device integrations in the Meta AI app, focusing on seamless navigation, device management, and user engagement across all devices
  • Embrace and champion an “AI-first” approach to design. Use AI to challenge your thinking, explore new alternatives, and push your craft further
  • Mentor and elevate teammates by reviewing work, providing actionable feedback, and fostering growth in design practice
  • Champion simplification and high craft across the team
  • Collaborate effectively across multiple orgs and build partnerships, inspiring and rallying teams to achieve shared goals
  • Present work and vision to executive leadership, clearly articulating goals, strategy, and design rationale. Step in to support decision-making and accelerate progress, serving as a proxy for leadership when needed
  • Excel at developing quick solutions, iterating rapidly, and jumping in without hesitation to address high-priority projects
  • Deliver innovative, high-craft experiences that foster user trust, drive product quality, and accelerate growth across Meta’s wearables ecosystem

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience building and shipping applications or software at company-level scale, leading end-to-end experience within large, ambiguous domains
  • Experience in interaction and visual design, with proficiency in typography, UI, color, layout, iconography, and how these elements impact product function
  • Demonstrated ability to develop product goals, identify opportunities in a global market, and make decisions based on user and company impact
  • Experience presenting work to executive audiences, including communication and presentation
  • Proven record of high craft and ability to champion team craft by mentoring designers and fostering growth
  • Experience with mobile app design (iOS and Android) and understanding of app design principles

Nice to have:

  • Experience connecting work with other industry-leading initiatives across the company and driving collaboration
  • Experience with rapid iteration, executive presence, and influencing other designers
  • Experience with 2D design for mobile and device interfaces (3D/spatial design is a plus, but not required)
  • Experience designing at the intersection of hardware and software, especially with wearables or device management
  • Familiarity with building demos and functional prototypes (“demos over decks” mindset)
  • Demonstrated leadership in non-product dimensions that have strengthened teams and positively impacted work environments
  • Ability to develop quick vision decks and pitch ideas to drive strategy forward
