Growth Design has one job: get people to build a Copilot daily habit that enhances their work experience. What you design will have tremendous influence over teams across M365 + Windows. As a Product Designer II, you will partner closely with PMs and designers from other teams to craft experiences that change user behavior. You will understand the business goals, desired user behaviors, and constraints. Proactive communication is critical – you will do a lot of question asking, convincing, and challenging. You will split your time between two ‘modes’ of design - rapidly generating design explorations where the goal is to inspire, promote brainstorming and alignment; and digging deep to craft end-to-end experiences that balance ‘moving metrics’ and providing delightful, engaging, and trustworthy experiences. You will partner with content design and research to ensure that your designs are coherent and rooted in customer understanding. Much of your work will be self-directed; at the same time, you’ll need to stay in sync with partners and stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and executive stakeholders to define, iterate, and implement new and existing product features, ensuring alignment with business, technical, and user requirements
Work with user researchers to coordinate testing efforts, interpret test results, and incorporate results into design efforts
Participate in and contribute to foundational research
Compelling Communication & Storytelling: Start with the problem and requirements, then clearly articulate how and why design concepts and decisions solve that problem
Share recommended solutions to cross functional partners and stakeholders, articulating design rationale clearly and effectively
Frequently be working with other teams who have limited context and competing priorities
Product thinking: Enthusiastically seeking to understand the broader context in which a product exists, including its users, market, and business goals
Going beyond visual craft to consider how design decisions impact user experience, drive business outcomes, and solve real-world problems
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
4+ years experience shipping products to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process
Experience designing for growth, where design solutions are evaluated based on usage, growth, or retention metrics
Experience that demonstrates proven ability to advocate for design thinking, effectively influence design outcomes, discover problems and tackle them in fast-paced environments
