Job Description

This product design role is a remote, mid-career opportunity for candidates based in Canada. The designer will be part of the Confluent product design organization, working on products and services that focus on the core Apache Kafka technology and Product-Led-Growth (PLG) group.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead design initiatives, including feature design, design for experiments, and UX research
  • Translate complex conceptual ideas into interaction or service design solutions
  • Drive product strategy by acting as the voice of the customer
  • Craft consistent, delightful, best-in-class user experiences
  • Perform usability testing, gather feedback from end users
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and fellow designers to launch new product experiences

Requirements

  • Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in product and/or business requirements
  • Ability to rapidly adjust or pivot design thinking based on late breaking changes
  • Ability to advocate for the role of design or user research
  • Experience consistently implementing a Design System
  • Comfortable leading user research sessions
  • Enthusiastic about giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Proficiency in producing realistic prototypes
  • A portfolio showcasing design process, projects, and outcomes
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product Designer
