Overview Instacart’s Core Shopping + Enterprise design team builds end-to-end experiences that help customers discover, shop, and check out with confidence while empowering retail partners with enterprise-grade capabilities. As a Product Designer, you’ll design experiences used by millions every week. You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, researchers, and content designers to elevate the craft and quality of high-impact experiences. You’ll move from concept to execution, framing problems, exploring approaches, and shipping thoughtful solutions at scale. Our Design Team is a collaborative group of Product Designers, Content Designers, Researchers, and Program Managers united by a passion for excellence and customer-centered craft.

Job Responsibility

  • Own end-to-end design for core shopping flows from discovery through launch
  • Elevate visual and interaction quality across browse, search, cart, and checkout flows
  • Partner with PM, Engineering, Data Science, Research, and Content to define and iterate on solutions
  • Create high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and production-ready specs in Figma
  • Present compelling, data-informed ideas to improve customer experiences
  • Collaborate with retail partners and enterprise teams on integrated experiences
  • Advocate for customer needs while balancing business and technical constraints

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in digital product design, preferably in consumer products or agency environments
  • Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering partners
  • Comfortable working in iterative environments using experimentation and A/B testing
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong documentation practices for remote collaboration
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving skills and high craft quality. A portfolio link is required

Nice to have

  • Experience collaborating with external partners or enterprise ecosystems
  • Background in e-commerce, marketplaces, or complex multi-stakeholder systems
  • Experience with motion design and animation for prototypes or research
