Job Description

Phorest powers over 12,000 salons, spas, and medspas in UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, Finland, the USA and Canada. The platform supports hundreds of thousands of professionals every day and millions of consumers. Our system touches every point of the salon and medspa experience - from the in-salon software appointment calendar and CRM with a fully integrated marketing suite, to staff apps to payments. Over €4 billion was processed in salons and clinics last year using Phorest, and each month 100’s of thousands of online bookings are created. We also provide customers with amazing experiences for their clients through custom native apps for booking appointments and eCommerce solutions to help sell online 24/7. Why? Because we’re passionate about helping our salons find their dream clients and keep them coming back more often, spending more, and spreading the word. Phorest’s E-Commerce Team: The E-Commerce team builds the guest-facing experiences that connect salons and clinics with their clients 24/7, helping people discover a business, explore services and products, and make a purchase or booking in just a few taps. This Product Design role focuses on B2C with a direct line to salons and clinics guests. What is shipped has an immediate, measurable impact on conversion, retention, and brand loyalty. This team sits at the heart of digital growth for salons. From online booking and discoverability, to product shopping, gift cards, promotions, and loyalty-driving journeys, they create the moments that turn “I’m browsing” into “I’m booked” or “I’ve bought” and bring guests back again and again. It’s a space where craft matters: performance, trust, accessibility, and delightful interaction design all have a measurable impact. We’re looking for a Product Designer who’s excited by high-visibility, high-iteration work and who enjoys blending creativity with strong product thinking. You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering in a 3 Amigos team to shape the experience vision, validate it with research and data, and deliver customer-facing features that help salons and clinics reach their guests, tell their story, and build lasting loyalty. The Opportunity: You will play a critical role in evolving our end-to-end consumer shopping experiences that help guests confidently discover, choose, and purchase products. You will work in a tightly-knit group alongside a Product Manager and Engineering Manager to shape ideas, define outcomes, and iterate toward the best solution. You will collaborate closely with engineering to build, test, and ship ideas and to learn from real-world performance (funnels, experiments, and feedback). You will balance fast iteration with high craft, ensuring the experience feels trustworthy, accessible, and delightful across platforms. Your work will directly influence commercial outcomes for salons and clinics, helping them increase their revenue while creating better experiences for their guests. You will be part of a small group of skilled, driven Product Designers, contributing to shared patterns and the design system so the experience stays consistent across our Products.

Job Responsibility

  • Champion our branded salon app within your team, utilising modern workflows and user-centric thinking to design impactful solutions that directly address our clients' evolving needs
  • Work in a product engineering environment, working closely with an engineering team to ensure what was shipped is meeting customer needs

  • Plan, run, and synthesise user research to validate assumptions, de-risk decisions, and improve the experience
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and prototypes that clearly communicate intent and enable fast iteration
  • Design user-centred journeys across web and mobile, balancing accessibility, performance, and brand craft
  • Promote design best practices and raise the bar through constructive critique, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Drive the evolution of the design system, partnering with Product and Engineering to elevate the patterns into a more modern, scalable framework for the branded app
  • Embrace and evolve our way of working

Requirements

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design
  • Driven user-centric design, through an understanding of user needs, behaviors, and motivations
  • Collaboration & communication skills, with the ability to build good relationships and communicate effectively both verbally and in written format
  • Problem-solving: Able to work autonomously in ambiguous or complex environments, including being comfortable working within technical infrastructure limitations and EU/US compliance frameworks that heavily impact user flows and UX writing
  • A can-do attitude with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn
