Job Responsibility:
Developing hardware systems for VR, AR and New Technology Initiatives
Exploring and developing concepts through prototyping and into mass-production consumer electronics
Working as part of a cross functional team and collaborating in domains other than mechanical engineering
Contributing to mechanical solutions
Modeling, building, testing and refining prototypes and characterization test systems
Working across the full product development cycle from concept inception to shipping product
Collaborating and managing work with Asia-based supply chain
Push state of the art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems
Requires 20% domestic and international travel
Requirements:
Requires a Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a product-design engineer-related occupation
Position requires 3 years of experience in the following: Mechanical engineering fundamentals such as prototyping skills, CAD and manufacturing process knowledge
Thermal Design, Design for Reliability and Failure Analysis
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Statistical tolerance analysis techniques
Functional dimensioning
GD&T and 3D or 2D CAD
Testing and analysis such as FEA, Simulation or Design of Experiments
High volume manufacturing techniques such as stamping, machining, 3D printing or injection molding
