Product Control is the largest department in Finance primarily responsible for controlling daily profit and loss reporting, price verification and trading activity for the Institutional Clients Group. We work closely across functions on a daily basis (including the Trading desks, Risk Management, Operations, and other areas of Finance) and develop a deep understanding of the products traded, along with the associated market risks. Product Control Lead Analyst A challenging role within the EMEA Product Control team, primarily responsible for overseeing reporting and analysing the daily P&L. Candidates will work closely with all other areas of the Finance department, liaising with the trading desk, risk management, operations and middle office.
Job Responsibility
Ultimately accountable for the control design of the team including timely completion and monitoring of control activities
ensuring compliance with Citi policies
Manage the scope of work that belong under the team’s mandate and participate in process migrations as required
Actively participate in hiring and all of those local initiatives that are intended to improve the hiring process
Work closely and establish excellent business relationships with all areas of the Finance department, liaising with the Trading Desk, Risk Management, Operations, Middle Office and IT teams and most importantly you will be the key contact person for the London and New York based leadership team within your asset class
Ensure that all deliverables are met, regulatory deadlines are kept and audit rating is satisfactory
Escalate issues and concerns around processes and drive projects that resolve them and bring efficiency for the firm
Support standardization efforts and projects to implement process improvement ideas
Requirements
At least 8 years of relevant professional experience
A university or college degree in Finance/Accounting is an advantage but not a must as we are open to other majors
Good command of spoken and written English
Confident analytical and communication skills
Controls focused mind-set
Strong PC skills in Excel, Word. Training will be provided on other in house and industry standard systems used in this position
Knowledge of or demonstrated interest in financial products is an advantage
Good financial accounting skills
A self-starter who proactively seeks to improve existing controls and streamline processes both from a tactical short term viewpoint, and also from a strategic long-term perspective, and implement these initiatives to completion
Hands-on. Must have a good eye for detail, but also be able to communicate to seniors in a succinct/clear fashion
