The Product Control Analyst is an entry level position responsible for contributing to efforts that ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank’s books and records in coordination with the Finance team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in the control and support of data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L and balance sheet reporting. The role is part of the Citi Markets Controllers team in Poland, within Finance. The business trades a wide range of products (FX, IR Derivatives, Bonds, Repo/Reverse Repo, Money Market) across a diverse range of countries and currencies.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze information and make recommendations based on data
Select the best pre-defined procedure to resolve issues and seek guidance when necessary
Escalate anomalies and issues in an efficient and timely manner
Daily and monthly reporting of Profit and Loss for the Markets desk, including control and analysis of the underlying transaction data for different financial products, mainly: FX, FI Securities, IR Derivatives, Money Market products
Daily and monthly Balance Sheet reporting for 30+ countries, including review of business level drivers and correctness of system data
Daily review and analysis of Profit Attribution Analysis including new trades, MTM and associated commentary on key risk factors and market moves
Review of daily funding rates for different currencies used for Transfer Pricing calculation
Monthly reconciliation between reported P&L and the General Ledger
Improve Finance processes and strengthen the Control environment as well as ensuring great communication across Product Control and other functions like Valuation Control team, Front Office team and Operations across number of countries
Requirements:
University/College degree in Finance/Accounting as well as 1-2 years of Finance related experience is an advantage but not a must and we are open to other majors
Technical skills – strong skills in Excel is a must
Nice to have: programming skills (VBA, SQL), data visualization literacy (Tableau, Knime)
Fair Understanding of Financial Instruments (FX/FI Securities/Derivatives, Money Market products) and basic knowledge of accounting
A disciplined and dedicated individual contributor, who proactively seeks to improve the existing controls and streamline processes
Fluent spoken and written English positive energy and motivation to work in Finance area
Strong analytical and communication skills
