Job Description

Are you experienced in quality or product assurance within high-reliability engineering environments? A leading engineering and technology organisation is seeking a Product Assurance / Quality Assurance Engineer to join their Dublin-based team, supporting the development of advanced electronic systems used in highly demanding applications. Working as part of a specialist quality function, you’ll play a key role in ensuring products meet stringent customer, regulatory, and industry standards across the full lifecycle – from design through to delivery. This is a hands-on role working closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibility

  • Defining and implementing PA/QA plans in line with customer and industry standards (e.g. ECSS, ISO)
  • Supporting design reviews, ensuring quality, reliability, and safety requirements are met
  • Leading and contributing to product assurance reviews at key project milestones
  • Overseeing manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure compliance with approved procedures and workmanship standards
  • Managing non-conformances, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions
  • Reviewing and approving technical documentation such as procedures, inspection plans, and test reports
  • Supporting supplier quality assurance activities, including audits and performance monitoring
  • Participating in internal and external audits
  • Performing hardware inspections and producing quality reports
  • Ensuring configuration control and full traceability of materials and components
  • Acting as a key point of contact for customers and external stakeholders on product assurance matters
  • Driving continuous improvement across quality and assurance processes

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a Product Assurance, Quality, or Reliability role within a high-reliability engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. ECSS, ISO 9001, AS9100)
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, and testing processes
  • Experience managing non-conformances and applying problem-solving methodologies
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test requirements
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured, analytical approach
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams

  • Background in space, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience working with space-grade or mission-critical electronic systems

  • Perform in-depth hardware analysis using lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal analyzers) to identify faults and validate system behavior
  • Lead root cause analysis of HW or SW-related issues across complex systems (electronics, vacuum, optics, motion control)
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures and performance deviations
  • Define and validate test methodologies for hardware systems, including signal integrity, power stability, and system-level performance
  • Support manufacturing by optimizing calibration procedures, test setups, and measurement techniques
  • Review and approve technical documentation, engineering changes (ECO), and deviation reports with a strong understanding of hardware impact
  • Monitor field performance, reliability data, and customer complaints, focusing on hardware-related failure modes
