As a Product & Application (P&A) Engineer in the Ocean Division you will be technical advisor and product advocate, actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. You will play a pivotal role in supporting customers and internal teams with expert guidance, ensuring the optimal selection and application of Alfa Laval solutions. Your expertise will support customers in optimizing their vessel operations, ensuring compliance with international marine regulations, and achieving operational excellence.
Job Responsibility
Prepare Estimations / Proposals for Repair & Reconditioning, Upgrades, and Value-Added Services for Alfa Laval equipment’s
Coordination on the service execution, documentation, inspection arrangements & delivery instructions
Collaborate proactively with Service, Sales and Field Service teams to ensure successful implementation of value-added services for marine customers
Directly support and be the primary technical contact for customers, making visits (physically or virtually), meetings and interactions with customers focusing on product presentations to offer a customized and willing value proposition
Lead and support the selection of the appropriate equipment and quotation process for customer projects, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with customer needs
Act as local champion during the launch of new service products
Be a visible technical expert both virtual and in person, troubleshooting complex technical issues, discussing Product & Application solutions, and promoting the Alfa Laval brand within the industry
Take responsibility and ownership of the job independently with liaising with technical team, sales team and the customer for the execution and successful completion of the job/ project
Quote, document preparation & execution of project orders involving upgrades & obsolete supplies involving group companies, local & international suppliers and sub-contractors
Use OneCRM and other digital tools consistently to support sales processes, decision-making, and lead generation
Ensure adherence to business principles and governance within your area of responsibility
Analyze data from connected equipment to identify reliability issues and recommend improvements
Demonstrate the ability to learn and utilize multiple Alfa Laval information technology systems
Requirements
Marine or Mechanical Engineering graduate
Up to 5 years’ experience in a similar position within the marine or ocean industry, and up to 10 years of total professional experience
Strong product knowledge and/or application experience with separators, gasketed Heat exchangers, freshwater generators and marine environmental solutions
Excellence in customer interaction and engagement
fluent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to use and learn Service digital tools and CRM systems
Proactive, service-minded, and strong in customer care
Well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to work with international colleagues
Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows
Electrical troubleshooting
Marine sailing experience is preferred
