Join us as a Product and Proposition Manager – Cards at Barclays, where you’ll be supporting the end‑to‑end delivery, management, and ongoing optimisation of the Make a Purchase journey. You’ll be responsible for setting the strategy and direction, supporting the future direction of card payments at Barclays.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the end‑to‑end delivery, management, and ongoing optimisation of the Make a Purchase journey
Setting the strategy and direction, supporting the future direction of card payments
Acting as the end‑to‑end journey owner for “Make a Purchase using Cards”, accountable for how customers experience card payments across channels
Ownership of customer outcomes, performance, resilience, and continuous improvement of the journey
Working closely with internal technology teams and key payment partners to ensure seamless external and internal integrations across the card ecosystem
Working with marketing and engagement teams to drive increased awareness and usage of the journeys, whilst meeting regulatory, scheme, and partner expectations
Requirements:
Product Experience: Shaping and delivering customer‑centric payment journeys with clear ownership and outcomes
End‑to‑End Delivery Expertise: Managing delivery from concept through to live operation and optimisation
Technical Delivery: Partnering effectively with technology teams to deliver complex, integrated card and payments change
Leadership of a Feature Team: Leading cross‑functional teams to deliver against defined journey outcomes
Journey Ownership: Accountability for customer experience, performance, and resilience of a core payment journey
Agile Methodology & Backlog Management: Prioritisation and refinement of work to maximise customer and business value
Nice to have:
Strong understanding of card payments, authorisation flows, and the broader payments ecosystem
Experience designing for resilience, reliability, and operational stability in customer‑critical journeys
Knowledge of tokenisation, fraud controls, and scheme rules within card payments
Experience working within regulated financial services, with awareness of risk, controls, and consumer duty considerations
