Vestas Wind are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our fantastic and collaborative team in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity to join a high achieving team to help organise the transport and installation of our wind turbines across Australia and New Zealand. The Construction & Transport Procurement team is responsible for the strategic sourcing of all goods and services for the delivery of our wind energy solutions to our customers. Through early engagement of our supply chain partners, we secure the best value engineered solution for the development and execution of our EPC projects. With a cross functional team of stakeholders, we strategically develop partnerships to enable sustainable growth and drive value for our end customers. You will be part of a highly dynamic and diverse team, that is driven by Vestas Values (Passion, Collaboration, Accountability and Simplicity) and is excited about the prospects of renewables in the region and our purpose to fight climate change. We offer a rewarding, purpose-based career in an international environment.This role will form part of a growing team working on strategic sourcing across a portfolio of wind projects, from early sales engagement to final project execution.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive the sourcing process throughout the bidding process, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and competitiveness of the supply base
  • Co-ordinate package negotiations and develop and implement value-adding commercial strategies
  • Manage the contract closing process, including document drafting and stakeholder approvals via the ERP system
  • Build supply market intelligence and ensure that the right supply base is available to enable our sustainable growth strategy
  • Ensure that all cost out and value creation opportunities are identified, and that relevant risk assessments are completed and acted upon to reduce risk

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, law or finance
  • 10+ years of procurement, commercial or project management experience, ideally within the energy industry or the construction industry
