We are looking for a dedicated Procurement Specialist to join our team in Franklin, Indiana. In this Contract to permanent role, you will oversee essential purchasing operations, manage inventory, and ensure efficient stockroom functionality. The ideal candidate will excel in vendor relations, inventory management, and procurement processes, fostering strong collaboration across teams.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain and manage consumable laboratory stock in various stockrooms, ensuring all supplies are appropriately stocked and monitored
Collaborate with laboratory management to keep stockrooms updated with current and necessary products
Conduct annual reviews with laboratory staff to ensure inventory aligns with company needs
Monitor supply expiration dates and implement stock rotation practices to maintain quality
Participate in Business Operations Meetings to support organizational goals and team alignment
Facilitate effective communication between the Business Operations Team and Laboratory Team
Manage inventory systems to track supply requests and finalize purchase orders for vendors and suppliers
Evaluate vendor pricing and performance to secure competitive pricing and reliable supplier relationships
Set up new suppliers in relevant systems and manage documentation, including tax forms and payment terms
Perform additional duties as assigned to support procurement and operational needs
Requirements:
Proven experience in corporate procurement and inventory management
Strong knowledge of purchase order processes and vendor relations
Proficiency in inventory tracking systems and procurement functions
Ability to negotiate contracts and evaluate supplier performance effectively
Excellent communication skills for cross-department collaboration
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage expiration dates and stock rotations
Familiarity with financial systems like Salesforce and QuickBooks
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines
