We are looking for a skilled and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This short-term contract to permanent employment opportunity involves managing procurement activities across various departments, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and delivering cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excel in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate expertise in purchasing processes and contract management.
Job Responsibility:
Facilitate the procurement of equipment, supplies, and services to support departmental operations
Manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accurate job costing and cost analysis for efficient purchasing
Develop and oversee contracts in alignment with Louisiana Bid Law and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) according to state regulations
Collaborate with internal teams to provide accurate quotes and assist in project cost evaluations
Review supplier bids, proposals, and contracts to ensure compliance with organizational goals and regulatory standards
Conduct pricing reviews and cost analyses using tools such as Microsoft Office 365 and Munis
Monitor state contracts and source approved vendors to optimize compliance and value
Prepare and deliver procurement-related reports and financial analyses to management
Maintain adherence to best practices in contract management, compliance, and recordkeeping
Build and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service delivery
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or buying roles
Familiarity with public sector or government purchasing processes is preferred
Knowledge of Louisiana Bid Law and experience managing Louisiana RFPs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and procurement systems such as Munis
Strong ability to analyze costs, administer purchase orders, and review requisitions
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on collaboration and customer service
Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a busy, high-volume environment
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
Nice to have:
Familiarity with public sector or government purchasing processes is preferred
