We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to provide part-time support for key purchasing and contract activities in Houston, Texas. This Long-term Contract position offers an opportunity to contribute approximately 20 hours per week while helping project teams secure services, manage supplier agreements, and maintain efficient procurement operations. The role requires someone who can balance vendor coordination, cost awareness, and compliance throughout the procurement lifecycle.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and support negotiations with service providers to achieve competitive pricing, appropriate terms, dependable delivery commitments, and well-defined contract updates
Prepare, review, and process service-related work orders in a timely manner so project teams receive the support they need without delay
Research potential suppliers, assess capabilities, and assist with onboarding vendors that meet quality expectations, project demands, and budget considerations
Monitor procurement activities to ensure alignment with company guidelines, contractual standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
Analyze pricing data and compare market options to identify savings opportunities and improve overall purchasing efficiency
Build productive working relationships with vendors, contractors, and business partners to encourage collaboration and quickly address issues that arise.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or contract administration
Working knowledge of corporate procurement practices and standard buying procedures
Experience creating or managing purchase orders and service-related work orders
Demonstrated ability to support contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers
Familiarity with procurement functions including sourcing, vendor coordination, and compliance monitoring
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform cost comparisons and support budget-conscious decisions
Effective communication and relationship-management skills across suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.
