We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Procurement Manager to join our Water Aviation Highways Team, leading Major material and subcontract procurement across live projects and tenders while ensuring robust commercial management, timely delivery, best‑value outcomes and performance management This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
Job Responsibility
Deliver subcontract and materials procurement across projects, ensuring best value, compliance, and alignment with programme requirements
Have a good Understanding of drafting NEC Contracts
Maintain procurement schedules and report buying gains/losses
Place timely, commercially robust orders that protect the business
Ensure adherence to Morgan Sindall processes and DELAPs
Support work-winning through tender input, procurement strategies, tender enquiries, and supplier/subcontractor evaluations
Contribute to supplier selection and lead on pre‑contract meetings
Identify innovation opportunities through supply chain engagement
Support supply chain segmentation and database development for the Business Unit
Build and manage key supplier and subcontractor relationships
Support ongoing review and performance management of the supply chain
Champion safe, sustainable supply chain delivery aligned with Perfectly Delivery and Responsible Business
Requirements
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or an equivalent professional qualification (MCIPS desirable)
Strong understanding of subcontract and supplier terms and conditions
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment across a business unit or operational area
Ability to follow processes and drive procurement practices on our projects
Proven management skills with the ability to motivate others and drive high standards of compliance
Excellent organisational, planning, and time‑management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects without compromising on quality
Solid knowledge of the construction industry and related procurement requirements
Ability to ensure compliance with standards and specifications across all procurement activities
Confident working with senior management to set and achieve project and operational targets
Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills, with the ability to present clear, compelling business cases to senior stakeholders
