This role exists to partner the B&W Business Unit as Procurement (previously called Category Procurement). This role is the voice of Procurement to the partnering functions, ensuring procurement representation in the BU and the voice of the BU within Procurement, translating business needs into procurement strategy.
Job Responsibility:
Be a strategy guru: have a clear understanding of the Business Group and Unit’s strategy. Translating this business and technical roadmap, into the material and supplier strategy required in Procurement.
Be a dot connector: See the big picture within the end-to-end value chain and drive value creation for the BU. You can see where programs and activities overlap and where teams need to be connected between Procurement and wider BU.
Be a commercial lead: Understand how the P&L works E2E to drive value and decisions within material cost.
Be a storyteller: Using strategic influencing skills to drive Procurement considerations and recommendations within the Division, based on outside market intelligence. For example, regular report on macro and micro economic trends, material inflation and currency impacts, thus enabling the BU to take mitigating actions, as per Procurement recommendations.
Be a leader: Lead the Partnering and Localisation program. Explore and Connect supplier partners and disruptors to facilitate supplier led innovation growth and cost saving initiatives.
Be a teacher: Working collaboratively with peers, sharing and taking best practice for the benefit of BU and the overall Procurement community. Ensuring cross functional partners are clear on the Procurement ways of working.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
+10years working experience
Experience in Procurement (portfolio or category roles) or Supply Chain role
Experience in senior stakeholder partnering and driving change
Nice to have:
High level of understanding of portfolios and commodity markets
Excellent knowledge of P&L, financials and commercial acumen
Good interpersonal, storytelling and influencing skills (impactful stakeholder management)
