Job Description:

Are you a strategic procurement professional with a talent for navigating complex government landscapes? We are seeking a Procurement Lead to drive end-to-end sourcing activities and contract management for a critical portfolio of commercial projects. The role is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing the end-to-end sourcing process from when a sourcing need is identified, to contract execution and contract delivery. In undertaking activities, the Procurement Lead will also be responsible for coordinating, seeking, and managing inputs from internal business unit clients, while delivering this cross functional procurement role within the Procurement and Contract Management team. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing strategic guidance to internal stakeholders and ensuring that all activities achieve maximum value for money while upholding the highest ethical standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and facilitate complex tendering events, including scoping requirements, advising on market approaches, and developing evaluation criteria
  • Manage key vendor relationships and oversee the day-to-day commercial management of contracts within the portfolio
  • Act as a strategic escalation point and partner with internal business units to provide commercial advice and review Statements of Work
  • Lead high-risk negotiations with suppliers and ensure all activities comply with organisational procedures and legislative frameworks
  • Provide guidance to a Procurement Administrator and foster a culture of safety and high performance within the team
  • Use foresight and business insight to drive operational effectiveness and process improvements

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in senior procurement roles within large, complex organisations
  • You are an expert in leading high-value procurement's and the end-to-end sourcing process, ideally within public sector or regulated environments
  • You have a proven ability to build trust-based networks and partner with cross-functional teams to drive change
  • You bring a deep understanding of contract terms, risk management, and the ability to lead high-stakes negotiations
  • You are experienced in navigating legislative compliance, Victorian Government frameworks, and public sector governance
  • Knowledge in Zycus e-procurement platform or similar product
  • You are a 'driver' who excels in complex decision-making, mentoring others, and maintaining high professional ethics
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline is essential
  • MCIPS or equivalent accreditation is highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, commerce, law or related discipline would be highly regarded
  • CIPS
