Job Description

Groupon is seeking a Procurement Category Manager with a strong analytical and project management focus to enhance procurement governance, vendor efficiency, and strategic sourcing execution. This role prioritizes investigative work, data analysis, and active collaboration with key stakeholders. You will join an agile, high-performing team operating in a dynamic, AI-driven environment that values speed, autonomy, and precision. Around 80% of the workload involves project management, while about 20% is dedicated to procurement execution. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, IT, HR, and business leaders to deliver insightful, compliant, and value-focused sourcing outcomes that support Groupon’s automation and process optimization goals.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead investigative analysis and project management to understand procurement needs, including strategy alignment, budget control, and risk assessment
  • Critically evaluate sourcing ideas, ensuring alignment with leadership goals and business strategies prior to procurement execution
  • Engage with cross-functional teams (HR, IT, Finance) to clarify requirements and manage projects that support procurement outcomes
  • Manage vendor contracts, lead negotiations, and monitor supplier performance to ensure value delivery
  • Facilitate sourcing events (RFx), conduct bid evaluations, and finalize contractual terms
  • Support sourcing and purchasing across indirect categories, enhancing procurement workflows and documentation through tools such as Asana and ERP systems
  • Promote audit readiness and effective stakeholder communication with clear, timely documentation
  • Drive cost savings and process improvements leveraging AI-supported data analytics

Requirements

  • Degree in business, finance, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proven experience combining project management or consultancy with procurement skills
  • preference for candidates with stronger project management or consultancy background supported by procurement expertise
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and autonomous working skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational abilities, and documentation capabilities
  • English Language

  • Experience in ICT, consulting, or digital services procurement
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled procurement analytics
  • Experience with project management tools such as Asana
  • Czech or Slovak language skills
