Job Description:

Procurement Category Manager – Global Transportation will lead the global transportation category working cross functionally within International interfacing with logistics, finance, direct material procurement and suppliers. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing global transportation sourcing strategies, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating and executing agreements. In addition, this position will collaborate with other VW brands to drive scale and synergies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for global transportation, customs brokerage and global trade management to align with International’s business objectives
  • Lead strategic sourcing decisions for new scope as well as current business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities
  • Establish business plans with VW and TRATON driving collaboration opportunities with sister brands
  • Research industry trends, benchmark data, and understand underlying cost drivers
  • Analyze category spend to identify and develop savings opportunities, and work with the logistics and procurement teams to develop cost budgets
  • Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that cost competitiveness, on time delivery, and service meet or exceed expectations
  • Drive compliance to International’s Sourcing Policy and VW processes
  • Focus on continuous improvement of current processes and systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • Master's degree and no experience
  • At least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States
