Job Description:

Procurement Associate role in the renewable energy sector responsible for creating, negotiating, and managing competitive bid processes for equipment and engineering services for wind, solar, and battery storage projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Create, negotiate, and manage a competitive bid process for owner-supplied equipment and engineering services for wind, solar, and battery storage projects
  • Ensure timely ordering, tracking, and delivery of critical equipment
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to meet project schedules while optimize costs
  • Support in the development and execute procurement plans for owner-supplied equipment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers, overseeing performance, pricing, monitoring lead times and compliance with contract terms
  • Manage purchase orders, confirm specifications, and track equipment production and delivery schedules
  • Monitor on hand inventory, ensuring efficient allocation and delivery of equipment to project sites
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for equipment procurement contracts
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including Engineering, Project Management, and Construction
  • Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Standardize procurement processes and tools for efficiency
  • Track procurement performance metrics and generate reports
  • Master Service Agreement development for key services and material vendors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or contract management, preferably within the renewable energy sector
  • CSCP or CPIM Certification preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the competitive bid process specific to large capital material purchasing, engineering services and negotiation techniques
  • Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Appain) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • experience with data tools (e.g., Power BI / Power Apps) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of utility scale energy equipment (e.g., HV and MV substation equipment, transformers, control houses, etc.)
  • Utility scale renewable energy procurement experience highly desirable
  • Experience with procurement, contract and project management preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the competitive bid process for construction and engineering services and negotiation techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software and familiarity with e-enabled supply chain systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP)
  • Excellent organization skills including the ability to organize and maintain a fluid administrative process
  • Statistical and analytical skills for evaluating supplier proposals and pricing
  • Aptitude for self-driven process improvement
  • Understanding basic continuous improvement fundamentals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Familiarity with short and long-term planning techniques
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated efficiency in managing multi-disciplinary tasks
