A permanent opportunity for a Procurement Assistant based in the Newport area to support the delivery of key sourcing, contract management, and supplier compliance activities. Job Responsibility

  • Support sourcing processes through e‑tender setup, supplier evaluation, and contract implementation
  • Maintain supplier records and the Approved Vendor List, ensuring vetting and compliance
  • Coordinate supplier audits, contract extensions, and price reviews
  • Assist with spend analysis, procurement catalogues, and sourcing documentation
  • Act as a first point of contact for procurement queries, ensuring policy and process compliance
  • Provide general administrative and analytical support across the procurement team

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supplier management
  • Basic understanding of commercial or contract principles
  • Strong communication, organisation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and procurement systems such as SAP or e‑sourcing tools
  • Able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
