A permanent opportunity for a Procurement Assistant based in the Newport area to support the delivery of key sourcing, contract management, and supplier compliance activities. This varied role offers the opportunity to develop procurement experience within a collaborative and fast‑paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Support sourcing processes through e‑tender setup, supplier evaluation, and contract implementation
Maintain supplier records and the Approved Vendor List, ensuring vetting and compliance
Coordinate supplier audits, contract extensions, and price reviews
Assist with spend analysis, procurement catalogues, and sourcing documentation
Act as a first point of contact for procurement queries, ensuring policy and process compliance
Provide general administrative and analytical support across the procurement team
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supplier management
Basic understanding of commercial or contract principles
Strong communication, organisation, and relationship‑building skills
Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and procurement systems such as SAP or e‑sourcing tools
Able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
