Job Description:

Permanent position as a Processing Plant Supervisor at the Mowi Ireland Fish Processing Plant. The successful candidate will report directly to the Processing Plant Manager and will have the opportunity to progress within our company. The role will be permanent, full time & pensionable, and the preferred candidate will work a 39hr week, in any five days out of seven. Mowi Ireland will provide comprehensive internal and external training.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the efficient running of the fish processing facility, from fish intake to dispatch
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure stock supply coordination, manpower requirements, production and logistics targets
  • Manage costs in relation to budget allocation
  • Assist in the budgeting process
  • Manage production schedules and staff
  • Report daily, weekly and monthly stock information
  • Monitor key performance indicators
  • Ensure that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are developed and maintained for the fish processing operations
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and general cleanliness
  • Foster a well-trained, safe and motivated staff
  • Monitor and control staff time, conduct, attendance & productivity

Requirements:

  • A degree in Food Science, Marine Biology, Aquaculture, or Food Business Administration is preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in food production line management, fish processing, or seafood retail
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of HACCP and food hygiene management
  • Quality and preferably integrated management systems experience (Quality, HES and Environmental)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the BRC standard for Food Safety
  • Knowledge of quality control, food processing equipment, and production optimisation
  • Ability to manage staff, production schedules, and operational logistics
  • Excellent organisational, communication & and reporting skills
  • Budgeting & Financial acumen
  • IT Literate
