Job Description

Join our team as a Processing Operator! This role involves delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced document processing environment, scanning and conducting quality control checks, capturing and validating images, and suggesting ideas for improvement. Located in Arena Quarter, Leeds, this temporary role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Delivering a high quality of service while meeting turnaround expectations
  • Accurately and efficiently processing paper-based documents
  • Scanning and conducting quality control checks on documents and images
  • Consistently achieving operational performance targets
  • Recording and escalating any system and hardware errors promptly
  • Actively suggesting ideas to improve quality and increase throughput
  • Undertaking projects and other duties as assigned
  • Correctly capturing and validating electronic images

Requirements

  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with document processing and scanning technology
  • A proactive attitude with a knack for problem-solving
  • Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not essential

  • Operate and adjust processing equipment to maintain smooth line flow and product quality
  • Monitor waste levels, blend rates, and product consistency using process control systems
  • Start, stop, and sequence equipment for cut changes, downtime, and emergencies
  • Perform water system operations to maintain quality and minimize usage
  • Communicate with QA, maintenance, and leadership to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct quality checks (peel loss, salinity, grid checks) and enter data into QA systems
  • Maintain sanitary conditions and support weekend cleanups and sanitation duties
  • Own equipment from even-flow bins through fryers and freeze tunnels
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Participate in safety programs and demonstrate leadership in plant safety culture

  • Supports Continuous Improvement throughout the plant by maintaining process data and equipment performance data to improve quality and throughput operating and cleaning equipment to maximize throughput and minimize downtime communicating mechanical and operational issues operating equipment at recommended speeds and monitoring fats total solids allergens and cryoscopes as they associate with processing dairy products to ensure quality and efficiencies are met
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies data and resources collaborating with managers coworkers customers and other business partners identifying priorities deadlines and expectations carrying out tasks communicating progress and information determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities and adapting to and learning from change difficulties and feedback
  • Complies with company policies procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans using the Open Door Policy and applying these in executing business processes and practices
