Job Description

The Process Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for ensuring in-process quality control, process improvement, and defect prevention within the manufacturing line. The role focuses on maintaining product quality standards, reducing rejections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Monitor and control quality at various stages of production
  • Conduct in-process inspections and audits
  • Ensure adherence to control plans and SOPs
  • Identify process gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Lean practices)
  • Reduce defects, rework, and rejection rates
  • Perform root cause analysis using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Track effectiveness of actions taken
  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and audit documents
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 if applicable)
  • Prepare reports for internal and external audits
  • Address internal quality issues and coordinate with production team
  • Support in handling customer complaints and line rejections
  • Participate in customer audits and inspections
  • Support PPAP, FAI, and process validation activities
  • Ensure quality requirements are met during new product introduction
  • Train operators on quality standards and inspection methods
  • Promote quality awareness on the shop floor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 4-7 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing
  • Experience in handling in-process quality in manufacturing setup
  • Knowledge of Quality Tools (7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC)
  • Understanding of Control Plan, PFMEA, and Process Flow
  • Familiarity with ISO / IATF standards
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and coordination abilities
