Job Description:

As a Process Operator (weighbridge) at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you’ll be responsible for the correct weighing of all cane entering the weighbridge. This position will be based at Kalamia Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region. This seasonal position requires working on a rotating shift schedule and some overtime may be required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Correct weighing of all cane entering the weighbridge
  • Control the first station in the mill making sure cane gets from the bins to the milling train
  • Maintain cane consignment data to make sure the right grower gets paid
  • Maintain records of scheduled weighbridge test weights
  • Troubleshooting issues with the automated sequence of bin handling machines
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices of fixed plant around weighbridge
  • Assist in scheduling cleaning of the weighbridge
  • Communicate effectively with Cane Supply & Transport and Laboratory teams
  • Provide regular and accurate feedback to Mill management on station performance and quality issues

Requirements:

  • Strong communicator
  • Ability to work alongside a range of different people
  • Basic mechanical skills (bonus)
  • High-risk work licences such as Confined Space and/or Working at Heights (bonus, training provided)
  • Willing and able to achieve relevant sugar milling module competencies

  • Issue uplift and delivery tickets and ensure all necessary information is recorded for invoicing purposes
