Job Description:

As a Pan Boiler at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will be responsible for the production of sugar. This includes monitoring and controlling batch pans, assessing crystal size and massecuite quality and making required changes to ensure sugar quality is met. Initially located at Macknade Mill, Ingham. This is a permanent position in our sugar processing factory which requires shift work during the crushing season (June - December), including weekends and overtime and day work during the maintenance period (Jan - May).

Job Responsibility:

  • Production of sugar
  • Monitoring and controlling batch pans
  • Assessing crystal size and massecuite quality
  • Making required changes to ensure sugar quality is met
  • Managing syrup, magma and massecuite stocks to maximise factory throughput and produce quality material
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping of the pan stage area and control room
  • Boiling according to schedule
  • Ensuring all safety requirements are completed
  • Ensuring no waste products or process materials enter storm water drains or otherwise cause environmental damage

Requirements:

  • Sugar processing experience
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Familiarity communicating via UHF
  • Demonstrable ability to work alongside a range of different people
