Are you ready for a hands-on role in a great team environment? As a Crushing Operator at Wilmar Sugar and Renewables, you'll be responsible for operating the cane feeding and crushing stations whilst working closely with the operations shift team. This permanent position is based at Kalamia Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work. During the crush, the role follows a continuous rotating shift roster, which may include weekends and occasional overtime. Once the crushing is complete and the Mill enters the maintenance period, the role switches to a day work schedule.
Job Responsibility:
Operate cane feeding, preparation and crushing station and associated plant
Conduct station operations using Citect SCADA System
Identify process problem and rate restriction and report to the supervisor
Complete operational logs and shift stops reports
Maintain excellent housekeeping practices around the shredder, milling train gearing and platforms to ensure a safe work environment
Perform regular maintenance to ensure efficient and smooth running of the milling train and assist tradespeople when required
Assist in plant isolations, undertake risk assessments and follow the permit to work process
Requirements:
Confined Space Entry
Working Safely at Height competency
High-Risk Work License for Turbine Operator (TO) or be willing and able to achieve them
