This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Set-up, support and production of high-quality products
Help create a highly productive work environment
Planning, checking, establishing a sequence of work to fabricate, assemble and inspect hardware to planning, engineering and quality control requirements
Developing new and improved methods of production
Perform multi-tasking and multi-machine operation
Use any equipment needed to prioritize, complete and process work assignments
Perform any pickup, touchup, rework, part mark and incorporation of changes to the product as required
Work from prints, sketches, specifications and written/verbal information
Maintain certifications, qualifications, licenses or permits as required to perform work
Utilize precision measuring equipment to perform self-inspection
Ensure that all FDAQ (Factory Data Acquisition) is completed according to work instructions
Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, technique sheets, work orders, and other documentation
Routinely move product within the shop-defined area
Perform verification of dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools
Perform inspection MVP, including first part review
Initiate and document any non-conforming condition
Ensure compliance with applicable processes (e.g., FOD, Hazmat, OSHA, QMS)
Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees
Prepare and maintain treating solutions used in processing tanks
Segregate and allocate material in accordance with treating requirements
Operate process tank equipment to accomplish selective metal removal or prep for paint
Skin polishing of mechanical fastened aircraft assemblies
CAD plate parts, materials and/or tools to exact tolerances
Develop proper setups for operations
Requirements:
3-5 years of relevant experience
Willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks
Must pass the WorkKeys Assessment (workkeys.com) or provide verification of having passed it
Must be a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) for export control compliance
Must present two (2) forms of identification for WorkKeys Assessment verification
