This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. The Company will provide appropriate job training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions following: developing new and improved methods of production, multi-tasking and multi-machine operation.
Job Responsibility:
Use hand equipment (e.g hand tools, power tools, air tools and computers) needed to complete/process work assignments
Perform any pickup, rework and incorporation of changes to the product as required
Work from prints, sketches, specification and written/verbal information
Maintain certifications, qualification, licenses or permits as required to perform work
Utilize precision measuring equipment (calipers, scales, etc) to perform self -inspection of in-process and finished work
Perform routine minor machine and Total Preventative maintenance as part of daily work duties (e.g replacing filters, bulbs and maintaining machine lubricant/coolant levels)
Routinely move product within manufacturing the immediate manufacturing work area and on occasion, move product to the next operation within a building
Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting team members of the same or lower classification
Ability to be cross-trained to inspect product and become SIA qualified
Perform fabrication support activities including: Masking hardware for subsequent processing
Loading/unloading/hanging hardware for chemical applications
Deburr
Hand finishing
Light hand forming
Requirements:
