The Process Improvement Engineer drives continuous improvement across operations by implementing innovative technologies, optimising processes, and enhancing safety, efficiency, and profitability. The role leads and supports the execution of the SES Roadmap and cross‑functional projects, collaborating with engineering and key stakeholders to deliver sustainable performance improvements.
Job Responsibility
Develop, organise, and manage Continuous Improvement projects and performance improvement opportunities using key resources, both internal and external, to complete projects on time, within scope, and budget constraints
Support the charge with the SES ~ SIG Excellence System aligning all departments with the implementation and maintenance progress within the System Framework
Communicate verbally and in writing across all levels and departments of the organization to ensure organisation-wide awareness of project completion timing and success
Analyse and execute technical and engineering initiatives to resolve and improve process, equipment, and packaging performance
Develop programs to reduce maintenance costs through equipment and process improvements
Provide a full backup and information service to engineering, maintenance and purchasing personnel during assembly and installation of projects
Investigate, justify, and validate all projects that could improve efficiency and productivity and in turn optimize conversion costs
Manage projects ensuring deadlines and objectives are met/exceeded as identified as part of a Process Improvement review cycle in line with the SIG SES tools and methodologies
Provide monthly updates/reports to the entire Adelaide business regarding key projects and initiatives including the CI progression
Identify and update the documentation to support changes i.e., SW, WI's and OPL's, and other documentation as required
Ensure that corrective actions have been developed, implemented, are sustainable and proven effective
Review the DAS information (Including Power BI Tools) daily for OEE performance and improvement opportunities
Review asset performance ~ Cycle Times, output, uptime etc. and benchmark all technical data with LN and the Costing Model for alignment
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Technical/Engineering roles within the packaging and plastics industries
Black or Green Belt qualification with proven implemented projects
Strong change management skills
Demonstrated ability to meet agreed deadlines and commitments within a dynamic and challenging environment
Proven verbal, written and presentation skills
Proven experience within a "lean enterprise environment" having led Kaizen Improvement events
