Job Description:

Develop new analytical test methods to support processing development trials. Utilize current analytical equipment and explore additional equipment to drive understanding of the processing trials

Job Responsibility:

Develop new analytical test methods to support processing development trials
Collaborate with technicians to write clear and concise work instructions for new test methods
Provide experimental design support for projects related to the manufacture and performance evaluation of GRIN polymer optics
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to design and implement equipment modifications
Use data analysis tools and presentation tools to efficiently communicate experimental design, results, and conclusions
Manage project timelines and efficiently communicate progress, technical challenges, and successes
Participate in cross-functional FMEA and troubleshooting efforts
Understand and implement appropriate EH&S standards, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

Must be located in the Cleveland, OH area
Enrollment in a MS or BS in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent
R&D experience in a lab or industrial setting
Experience with Data Analysis (MATLAB, JMP, Excel, Minitab, or equivalent)
Experience with Instrumentation & Data Acquisition (LabVIEW, Flexlogger, DAQExpress or equivalent)
Programming experience (Matlab, Python or equivalent)
US Citizenship

Nice to have:

Plastics processing equipment experience and/or familiarity with various analytical equipment (Cast film extrusion, refractometer, FTIR, SEM, microscopy, etc.)
Design of Experiments and/or programming experience
Data Reporting & Presentations (MS PowerPoint preferred)
3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
