The Process Engineer is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.
Job Responsibility:
Represents USPB Controls Automation & Optimization team on control related business projects, responsible for the development and execution of data driven analysis
The position requires substantial interaction with the USPB business, Application Development, Policy and other functional business partners to optimize business strategies
Research data sources to help clarify and redefine business requirements
Performs data mining and reporting support for USPB internal and external audit reviews
Drives the development of complex controls, ad-hoc analysis and reporting using current sources and new sources as needed
Developing analytical solutions to introduce and enable efficiencies within existing credit processes and fraud prevention strategies
Performs validation of reporting metrics and calculations to determine that business needs are being met and if updates/corrections are required
Participate with cross-functional teams to create and implement new/updated control solutions
Strong communication with Senior Management within supported business area(s)
Evaluates efficiency of existing information/reporting and suggests improvements
Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within the team and is involved with coaching and training of new team members
Requirements:
Knowledge of Citi USPB business processes and process quality control terminology
2+ years of experience using SAS, SQL
Experience with UNIX, EDW, TSO, JCL, COMET, COGNOS, VBA or big data a plus
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) knowledge required
Experience using large consortiums of complex data & demonstrated problem solving skills
Experience in translating business needs into actions and effectively communicated results
Strong interpersonal skills (interact with various levels within the organization)
Bachelor degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related quantitative field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience
