Job Description:

Manufacturing Process Engineer for Grinding

Job Responsibility:

  • The manufacturing process engineer serves as the primary technical resource for the plant in developing, planning, supervising, performing and coordinating a broad range of process engineering activities
  • This includes training, quality assurance, and other related technical functions which will lend significant contribution to the organization and the achievement of its goals and objectives
  • Design, develop, and implement technical solutions relating to the area of precision grinding
  • Research, design, and develop grinding process technology and related tooling
  • Oversee the formulation of process instructions and procedures
  • Act in a self-directed manner to implement improvements in the manufacturing processes
  • Perform root cause analysis, produce reports, and implement changes to reduce waste and cycle time
  • Assist plant operations, corporate development engineering, and operations managers in application, development and scale-up of new processes
  • Provide failure analysis of process or equipment issues
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot grinding process equipment
  • Provide consultation and technical expertise to operations staff with on-going quality issues
  • Provide good record keeping and communications skills
  • Ensure customer excellence and delivery of quality products

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field is required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Shows ability and confidence in communicating ideas and results using education and experience
  • Familiarity with Quality System concepts
  • Eligible/authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Limited travel
  • To be considered for this position, you must be legally authorized to work in the US (excluding Optional Practice Testing) and not require sponsorship now or in the future

Nice to have:

  • Utilize CAD Modeling software for drawings, UG/NX knowledge is a plus
  • Mechanically inclined with a background in machine building is a plus
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts is preferred
