The Process Engineer is responsible for driving results in a dynamic environment by supporting technology transfers and scaling up production processes. They are responsible for making improvements within production processes related to key business indicators such as efficiency, waste, downtime, and others. The Process Engineer works closely with Production, Quality, Health and Safety, and the Engineering department to ensure the optimal functioning of the process in question. The position requires extensive knowledge of continuous improvement tools and a methodical approach to working with the pillars of sociotechnical programs such as TPM, WCM, and UMS.
Job Responsibility:
Drive results in a dynamic environment by supporting technology transfers and scaling up production processes
Make improvements within production processes related to key business indicators such as efficiency, waste, downtime, and others
Work closely with Production, Quality, Health and Safety, and the Engineering department to ensure the optimal functioning of the process in question
Apply the full set of UMS methods and tools to identify root causes, define countermeasures and validate their effectiveness, mastery of FI, AM, PM, Q and PD methods and tools
Establish standards to support line operators sustain new basic conditions
Processes Fit assessment, Mass Balance, Energy Balance, and Equipment Suitability assessments
Partner with Research and Development to ensure process manufacturability during design
Assist in Designing Experiments needed to establish Proven Acceptable Ranges for critical and key process parameters
Understand relationships between Process Yield and Product Quality to achieve Process Optimization
Write protocols and reports needed to support Process Validation, process changes and equipment modifications
Provide training to manufacturing staff on manufacturing procedures
Troubleshoot unexpected events during cGMP manufacturing, assists in investigating and documenting process deviations and CAPAs
Provide plant support
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
Work directly with the line crews on a daily basis, acts as the technical trainer for line teams and provides coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of countermeasures
Requirements:
Engineering degreed
Packaging: mechanical, electrical, robotics
Processing – product technology knowledge
Business acumen and financial tools, understanding of the Master plan, factory priorities and how manufacturing performance of the site correlates with its finance KPIs and BGs targets achievement
Manufacturing & Packaging technology. Rely on basic but consistent understanding of the manufacturing technologies of the Category to drive relevant process
Engineering. Apply technical engineering skills (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Automation, others) to do practical problem solving
Technical drawings, drawing programs, 3d modelling, etc.
Analytical capability, basics of statistics, basics of coding to collect and analyse complex data to penetrate problems’ phenomena and understand root causes
Process Design and manpower optimization, including NVAA reduction technics. Leverage technical knowledge and a systems approach to ensure factory lines and processes are optimally resourced (e.g. manpower ratios are efficient and sustainable)
