Job Description:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is based in the Burlington, ON office. The successful candidate will provide process engineering support for water treatment projects, ranging from pre-sales feasibility studies to detailed engineering deliverables. Occasionally, the role may involve on-site support at client facilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and produce process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and mass balance calculations
  • Develop treatment protocols and establish equipment sizing criteria
  • Conduct technical evaluations and provide supporting analysis, reports, and specifications
  • Stay up to date with advancements in water and industrial wastewater process technologies
  • Document changes to process scope and design
  • Provide project support, peer reviews, and technical guidance to other engineering staff
  • Assist with site audits, installation, and commissioning activities as needed
  • Establish and maintain open communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality products and services

Requirements:

  • A degree in chemical engineering (undergraduate or graduate) or a minimum of 3 years of experience in the design, operations, and engineering of water and wastewater systems
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration with the PEO
  • In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, including redox reactions, precipitation, lime softening, clarification, filtration, dewatering, ion exchange, and membrane technologies
  • Ability to develop innovative and proprietary process solutions
  • Experience with metals, mining, and industrial wastewater processing technologies, techniques, and equipment is highly desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Open to domestic and international travel
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
  • Project management experience and/or training
