Serves as the technical authority for Standard Operating Procedures across Gulf of America (GoA) offshore facilities, ensuring procedures are accurate, compliant, and aligned with engineering design and operational practices for existing assets, new developments, and brownfield projects. Supports the GoA Training Team by contributing technical content and expertise to training program development and deployment.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the technical owner for all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) supporting GoA offshore operations
Ensure all operating procedures are technically accurate and aligned with engineering standards, specifications, and operating philosophies
Ensure all operating procedures comply with applicable BSEE and other relevant regulatory requirements
Validate operating procedures against engineering and operational documentation, including but not limited to P&IDs, PFDs, SAFE charts, vendor data, design philosophies, and field-verified operating practices
Develop new operating procedures to support new builds and brownfield projects throughout the project lifecycle
Update and revise existing operating procedures in response to Management of Change (MoC) activities and in accordance with established periodic review and revalidation cycles
Drive consistency, standardization, and quality across operating procedures for assets within the Gulf of America
Establish, track, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to support continuous improvement of the operating procedures program
Interface directly with offshore operations personnel to identify procedural needs, communicate changes, and incorporate operational feedback into procedure development and improvements
Develop technical assessment and evaluation questions to support the Competency Assurance Program (CAP) for new builds and brownfield projects
Provide technical expertise and support in the development, validation, and deployment of training programs supporting offshore operations
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred
10 years’ experience post-graduation working in engineering or other technical roles supporting offshore oil and gas production operations
Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, and maintaining operating procedures within the oil and gas industry
deepwater experience strongly preferred
Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation and drawings, including but not limited to SAFE charts, P&IDs, PFDs, vendor data books, pump curves, and design philosophies
Broad understanding of offshore production operations, including separation systems, compression systems, chemical and hydrate inhibitor injection systems, produced water systems, gas dehydration systems, hydraulic power systems, and related equipment
Working knowledge of BSEE regulations applicable to GoA production facilities
Proven ability to develop procedures that fully meet regulatory and company requirements while remaining clear, concise, and user-friendly for end users
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
