Job Description

Oversees support of Process Control functions for refinery operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintains ongoing awareness of the needs of the business for process control support
  • Assists in communicating priorities and reporting progress of assignments
  • Works closely with team members and refinery leaders to establish and deliver on work commitments
  • Maintains awareness of process control scope and engineering work performed by the process control group
  • Supervises a team of Process Control and Advanced Process Control Engineers
  • Manages vendor and contractor relationships
  • Works closely with the other supervisors within the PCIS department
  • Provides discipline technical assurance for all work within their scope
  • Serves as Reviewer/Approver for Control Systems Discipline Management of Change activities
  • Enforces, Maintains and Develops policies and procedures for routine change within the Control Systems Discipline
  • Oversees efforts of their team to monitor and assure process control performance
  • Directly supports process control needs of refinery in assigned areas
  • Organizes and participates in shared off-hours on call rotation

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten years engineering experience in a refinery or functionally similar environment
  • A minimum of five years experience in control systems engineering
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • Ability to lead and direct the work of others
  • Working knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts and ability to apply this knowledge analytically
  • Ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with engineering software
  • Advanced reading and writing skills
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbally
