Job Description

As a Process Control Engineer/Specialist with control expertise, solid communication skills and a growth mindset. This role offers hands-on exposure to diverse sensor technologies and advanced control software, with frequent opportunities to make a meaningful difference through improved performance and reliability. You will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving process control across operations, with a focus on safety, reliability, and performance.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize process control strategies and systems
  • Apply and formalize process control best practices across operations
  • Troubleshoot and support DCS and PLC-based process control
  • Lead control-related projects from concept through execution, ensuring timely delivery
  • Manage and coordinate contractors and system integrators as required to achieve project goals
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve process performance
  • Support commissioning, tuning, and testing of control schemes and advanced control strategies
  • Ensure documentation, standards, and change management processes are followed
  • Compile and present detailed reports to upper management on process control improvements and cost/benefit analysis to justify process control capital investment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Process Control, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process control or automation engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with various disciplines and departments
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive work to completion
  • Hands-on experience with DCS and PLC systems
  • Process control methodologies and function block knowledge
  • Eligible for registration, or currently registered, as an EIT, P.L.Eng or P.Eng with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, energy, mining, or process plant environments
