Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, the Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for a variety of clerical and receptionist duties in support of daily patient services within clinical areas: greets patients, appointment and procedure scheduling, registration, insurance, and authorization verification for scheduled services, answering multi-line incoming customer calls and creating HARs. Other duties assigned as needed.

Requirements:

  • Three years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting
  • Prior scheduling experience
  • Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans
  • Possess demonstrated computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Possess problem-solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met
  • Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision
  • a person who is open to new ideas
  • and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization
  • Possess the characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation and accountability

  • EPIC trained
  • Prior 'Optime' and procedure scheduling experience preferred
