Job Responsibility

  • Support attorneys with probate litigation from intake through final resolution
  • Prepare, revise, and submit court filings such as petitions, motions, inventories, orders, accountings, and other case documents
  • Track deadlines, monitor case progress, and maintain compliance with procedural requirements for active matters
  • Research legal questions involving probate proceedings, trusts, wills, and creditor issues to assist case strategy and filings
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, courts, and financial institutions by sharing updates and coordinating needed information
  • Assist with discovery and trial readiness by organizing records, preparing exhibits, and supporting attorneys before hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial proceedings
  • Help compile information for estate and gift tax return preparation and filing at the state level
  • Maintain well-organized case files, correspondence, and estate records to ensure accurate documentation throughout each matter
  • Support asset identification, valuation, and distribution efforts as part of estate administration activities

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of paralegal experience focused on probate, trust matters, estate administration, or related litigation
  • Prior hands-on experience in probate work is required
  • Paralegal certification is required
  • Strong ability to manage litigation matters, including discovery support, document preparation, and trial coordination
  • Proficiency with case management and legal billing software, including tools such as Practice Master and Tabs3, is preferred
  • Comfortable using everyday legal technology such as Microsoft Office, Dropbox, DocuSign, Adobe, Zoom, and Teams
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate files in a fast-paced practice
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for working effectively with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and outside parties
